APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
The following materials must be uploaded as separate .pdf documents in a single online session:
- Research statement defining your research interests and expectations from the collaboration. This should be completed with input from your U.S. advisor who will co-mentor you on the project
- Unofficial transcripts from graduate institutions
- Resume/CV
- Contact and demographic information (Enter in online form)
- Personal statement addressing your interest in this research opportunity and how you expect to address challenges that may arise during the course of the fellowship.
- NSF-style letters of collaboration.
At least one letter of support must be submitted by your U.S. research advisor who will co-mentor you this Summer. Additional letters can be submitted for additional U.S. faculty who will co-mentor you to carry out the proposed research program.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Research goals and their compatibility with the goals, computational resources and expertise of international project site and mentor selected.
- Ability of the applicant’s U.S. research advisor to provide guidance (i.e. co-mentor) during the problem formulation and implementation stages.
- Experience and computational background of the applicant (unofficial transcript, CV)
- Letters of support
- Ability to thrive and benefit from the research environment
NOTE: Research plans that do not meet with US export control standards, as verified by the MSU Export Control Office, will not be funded.
